Will this hurt my credit score?
Opening a new card triggers a temporary 5-point drop that recovers in 6 to 12 months. If you're about to buy a home or refinance, we'll tell you to wait. Otherwise, the impact is minimal, and your overall credit profile usually improves over time as your available credit increases.
Do I need to travel a lot to make this worth it?
No. Points can be redeemed as statement credits, used for the trips you already take, or saved for future travel. Most clients use them for trips they were planning to take anyway, but at a fraction of the cash cost.
I carry a balance some months. Is this still for me?
Honestly, not yet. Interest rates on rewards cards run 20% or higher and will erase any rewards math. We'll tell you that upfront and recommend you focus on paying down your balance first. We're happy to revisit when that's resolved.
How is this different from a "points blog"?
Points blogs are written for travel hackers optimizing personal vacations. We work with business owners on their actual business spending, usually $20,000 to $100,000 or more per month, and design a strategy around their real cash flows. Different audience, different math, different outcomes.
Do I have to sign up for the ongoing service?
No. The one-time strategy is a complete engagement and works on its own. The Quarterly Tune-Up exists for clients who want us to keep the strategy current without them thinking about it. About half of our clients sign up; the other half do it themselves. Either is fine.
What if I'm not happy with the strategy?
If we can't find you significantly more value than the fee during the engagement, you don't pay. After the working session, if you decide the plan isn't right for you, we'll refund the fee. We'd rather have you tell five other business owners about us than collect $500 once.
